Artist Statement

It is through our lived experience of a place that it becomes a vessel for memory and yet images of places never experienced can trigger vivid recollections of our past experiences. This body of work explores the interwoven dialogue between sight and site. Its visual nature makes it fertile ground for intermingling of memory and imagination. These works catalogue the last eight months of my experiences reflecting the natural beauty and the interior space of my surrounds. These ceramic vessels serve to hold everything I cannot put into words while the imagery reflects the places that for me trigger these memories.

Isabella Edwards was 2017 winner of the Sabbia Gallery Exhibition Prize for National Art School Graduates in Ceramics.

The series “Co-Inhabited” was also shown as a part of this exhibition
